DIY Wedding Bouquet:

Creating your own DIY dried and preserved bridal bouquet is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your wedding day. Follow these step-by-step instructions to make a stunning bouquet that will last as a beautiful memento of your special day:

Materials you will need:

  • Dried and preserved flowers and foliage from your chosen wedding box

  • Floral wire and floral tape

  • Wire cutters (not included)

  • Ribbon or twine (not included)

  • Scissors (not included)

  • Optional: hot glue gun or floral adhesive

1: Prepare your materials

  • Start by unpacking all your dried and preserved flowers and foliage, make sure you have a large work area to make selection easier. Untie any bunched items to make picking easier.

2: Plan your bouquet

  • Lay out your flowers and foliage and arrange them into a pleasing bouquet shape. Experiment with different combinations and placements until you achieve the desired look. Consider the size, shape, and color balance of your bouquet.

3: Prepare the stems

  • Trim the stems of your flowers and foliage to your preferred length, this is to make assembly easier, don’t cut them too short. Remove any excess leaves that may interfere with the arrangement.

4: Add flowers and foliage

  • Take a few flowers and foliage stems and hold them together in your hand, creating a base for your bouquet. Gradually add flowers and foliage, one at a time, around the initial base. Angle each stem slightly outward as you insert it into the bouquet to create a rounded and natural shape. Spiral all stems in the same direction (pro-tip), this will make your bouquet open up and easier to adjust any stems or flowers.

5: Secure the bouquet

  • Use floral wire or floral tape to secure the stems tightly, wrapping them from the base to the bottom of the stems.

6: Create a handle

  • Once you've added all the flowers and foliage, cut stems to desired length. Wrap the stems tightly with floral wire or tape to create a handle. Ensure that the handle feels comfortable to hold. You can also wrap the handle with ribbon or twine for a decorative touch.

7: Finishing touches

  • Trim any excess stems or foliage that may protrude from the bouquet. Ensure that the overall shape of the bouquet is balanced and visually pleasing. If desired, you can secure any loose flowers or foliage with hot glue or floral adhesive.

8: Store and preserve

  • Once your bouquet is complete, store it in a cool and dry place to ensure its longevity. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. Your dried and preserved bouquet will serve as a cherished keepsake of your wedding day.
